    Approaching a business

    Hi,

I have an idea that I believe will interest a lot of businesses. A business purchases A4 coupons from me, I then design the coupon with whatever they want on it. The coupon also contains a five digit code, the receiver of the coupon will be instructed to go to the website of the business who is advertising on the coupon, to type in this five digit code into a form on the website, to check if it is the winning coupon. The winner will get a prize such as 10% of a purchase etc. This way the site gets hits and advertises their business on the coupons.

Ebay sellers will be distibuting the coupons with their products, but only ebay sellers will be chosen, who sell related products to that of what the business is selling.

However, going back to the point I have no idea of how to approach a business and tell them about this idea. More importantly I need to get them interested, should I write them a letter, email, what would be the best way of approaching them. What sort of business should I be targeting, small, starter businesses or large successful business who just want to advertise new products.

    Thanks for any advice

Do you have any samples that you can send via snail-mail? I can propose the concept to some of my clients, but I need some hard-copy examples to show. PM me if you're interested.
