I have a cam only LS1 Z28. Freedom, with 11.5 compression I assume you won't be running a turbo? If true, how do you plan on getting into the 10s?

To be honest, I kinda want to do a naturally aspirated motor. I've heard of people doing a Frankenstein setup on Honda's. But that will require me to get a different block. The B20 from the CRX is the most common and people will usually do the B18C1 (GSR) head on the B20 block. I've heard it being done but that will require me to buy a whole new block and head. But if thats the case then I'm all for it. But if I do that I might just consider doing a B18C5 from the Intergra Type R and building that motor instead, but then it won't be a true SiR anymore so I think I might have a little dilemma.

But I'm also just in the learning stages so I might go boosted with different compression ratio. But we'll see in the future. When I get back from North Carolina in the fall, I start the finishing touches on the exterior and interior of the car and finish building the motor.

Me neither. I'm tired of all these kids putting huge body kits on their cars and thinking there all fast because they can beet a civic with exhaust and intake. Civic's are only fast with different motors and tons of money.

I have been a huge fan in the automotive industry for years. Going to be making my mark with a new racetrack/performance course in New England. Starting with a few local events this summer!

Its one thing to build a fast car, but its another to have somewhere to use it.

Thats one of my problems. I can't wait all winter to get to a drag strip or even a couple of days. I have a problem with speed. Its addicting. But when we organize, were as safe as we can be but how safe can you be when you running it illegally. But its a passion and I honestly think its worth it.

I feel your pain, I've come up with a way to keep a track open all season long and profitable too. Just getting started is the hard part,if all goes according to plan this summer we will be in good shape atleast to get known and start building support.

I am starting out with drifting events, its a big market but it needs to stay at the grass roots level. Once I get a few of these events down I'll start working with other forms of racing and events too.

I sold my talon (just a fun car not a drifter lol) and I'm putting all of my efforts into the business side of things now.

Thats awesome that you creating a drift track. That market is taking off in the United States. Its still small but its getting there. Where is it going to be located at?

Are you going to build you own drift car or just organize and run the track?

Right now I'm focused on the organization of everything but my full intentions are to drift, it just wouldn't be as much fun alone. I would like to build a 2nd gen RX-7 maybe with the 350 conversion, but Id like to run rotary at first if I like it Ill stick with it.

Plus I support the automotive industry so I am going to take it to a level that hasn't really been capitalized yet. I want to open a track in southern NH northern MA. There is a group in Palmer MA building a track, its taken them 18-19 years already they are just about to break ground on construction this year.

I think I can skip a lot of the red tape by working with other tracks like this. The market is so big I can pretty much talk openly about things. I was talking with the guys from Drift Session, they were hosting their own event a track in Hawaii and rented the track out to 7 other drifting clubs! At first they were worried that the other groups would be competition, but its just too hot right now.

To anyone in the tire industry reading this:

The average set of tires lasts 15 min. and drivers go through 3-4 sets per event!

Don't want to bust your bubble bro, but I may be able to save you some time...unless your squeezing a healthy shot on that motor, you won't see 10sec. passes. And since your above 11.0:1 compression, I know your not boosting.

I raced Nopi/NHRA for a couple seasons, owned a speed shop, and I still build motors for a few people... and still the only all-motor cars in the 10's are big k20 motors. I ran a big stroke, big bore b series that ran low 11's at 122mph plus. Give you some insight on what something like that costs, my head alone cost me over $5k, titanium rods, $1500, one off (1 ring) pistons $$$. I know all the motor guys racing today, trust me they rebuild motors every other race weekend because the motors are on the verge of blowing after 10 passes.
