Anyone in the/related to Voiceover business?

For some time now, I have been seriously pondering forming a voiceover service, like Craig Burnett [who has done great quality work for me in the past], and offer VO services for commercials, voicemail recordings, narration, etc.

I began to consider entering into this field, due to the numerous compliments I have received over the last 3-4 years from various individuals about the "melodiousness" and "radio-like" projection of my voice. From reading verses at Bible studies to the grocery store check out line, several people have encouraged me to pursue something in the VO industry.

Given that, has anyone had any experience in the VO field as a professional? Is the market too saturated with VO artists? What are your thoughts?

I haven't been into it but I have had VoiceOver's done before for my online radio station that I was running. The guy's name is Ray Gauthier and he did a good job. I'd recommend doing a search on Yahoo for more info on it because in my opinion, the field isn't saturated.

You have people needing voiceover's for radio stations, commercials, presentations, and the ever-growing community of online radio stations believe it or not. Even the gentleman, Ray, told me back when he did mines 1-2 years ago that he was flooded with jobs because him and another gentleman named Jeff were what seemed like the only 2 for online radio stations.

In my opinion... go for it

Hey,

i read in another post about someone who has a website of various different artist. you might want to check it out and find some agents on it.

they were posted some question on another thread and the name was catchy. www.IamAnArtist.com

looks like they have lots of talented people on it... might be worth a check out ... they were giving out coupone code: "free"

it's pretty cool. hope it helps you in your voice over talents.

Hey C,

It was a online hip-hop advertising station. Unfortunately the licenses needed (SESAC, ASCAP, BMI and SoundExchange) cost a good piece of change so I gave it up. As I said in the PM reply, I am thinking of starting an online hip-hop station AGAIN, but for independent artists only.

I have an idea for an online-based radio station. Due to the content, there will be no need to acquire the licenses [along with their exorbitant fees].
