Hey all. First post here.
I am looking for advice on finding a good partner to help me out with some electronics design. I'd love to speak with someone here, or get some tips on where to go to dig up some one.
Ideally, I'd like to find a young software, electrical, or embedded systems design engineer. I envision this being someone who is still in school or just recently out of school, but I suppose I am open to anyone, including hobbyists, or other inventors with electronics design skills. He or she must be mature and be able to intelligently speak about some projects that he or she has completed.
I have three invention ideas that I look at as very promising. These products would solve real world problems. In fact, one of the inventions would solve a problem that nearly every household in America has. If you help in design, you obviously would be entitled to a substantial portion of any profit made. You would be expected to have your own development tools. I'm looking for a symbiotic relationship where we would tackle problems together. If you know anything about embedded electrical design, you know that sometimes it just takes a second person to look at things to reveal some "obvious" oversight to push the project forward. I need some one who can do that, and is willing to take on his or her part of the design and coding.
About me:
I'm a very mature, married 24 year old professional accountant. I have two separate degrees in finance and accounting -- so I know business. I had my first electronics based invention idea about 8 months ago I've been pressing very hard at getting more and more familiar with it. In my electronics journey I've gone from the basic "turn on an LED" project to fairly involved radio frequency micro controller based sensor, LCD display, and user interface applications. I'm no electrical engineer, but I'm not too bad. I use PIC micro controllers and I program exclusively in assembly, though I am learning C. I've done PCB design, made my own PCBs with the toner transfer method, and I can solder SMT devices down to TSSOP and 0402 sizes.
Please let me know if you would be interested in bringing your skills to the table. We'd probably work on an unrelated project together before I'd trust you with my ideas. I'd be willing to help with any ideas that you have if you are in the same boat as me.
If you can't help me but know where I should look, please point me in the right direction!
Thanks.
