Anyone have/had experience selling custom shirts?

I'm looking for something like Zazzle.com or Printfection that allows customers to buy a custom shirt, but I want to get the cheap price without buying bulk as I don't have the sales volume to qualify.

PrintMojo has like a 24 for 8.15 but again I don't have the capital to do a downpayment like that...

    Anyone got experience?

I did it once about a year ago on my campus. Your best bet would be to find someone you know who does custom shirts and get your inventory through them. It will be less expensive and allow you to make more profit.

I don't understand exactly what you are asking. I have a lot of experience in screenprinting and custom shirts.

So you're saying you don't have the $200 to purchase 24 shirts? If that's the case, then I hate to be negative, but you probably should wait until you do. There is no money in making shirts one at a time. Ever wondered how they always have championship shirts ready for whatever team wins? They print both, and destroy the losers shirts. At that volume shirts get down to $3 or less depnending n design. The set-up time or equipment cost to print single shirts is enormous, if you actually consider the time, each single shirt would cost nearly $50.00 before they sell to you. On an auto press they will spend 30ish minutes setting up, and less than 3 to print 24 shirts. This doesnt include the time to prepare the screens and artwork.

The custom shirt market online, to me, is saturated. The biggest place I see them sold is on college campus' and near sporting events and tourist traps. These are the places people will pay for tees.

Do you have a design? If so, who does it cater to? You local school, church, band? Something national? Everyone? Tell me more about what you want to do and i'll be hapy to give you some advice. I also have a local screen printer who will do smaller orders that I could get you pricing from.

Custom tees are definitely fun and exciting. Look at what ed hardy did to the basic tee... scale that back some (okay, a lot) and you can have some great shirts. There is a lot to consider before selling them though, shirt quality, placement, quantity, etc

If your idea is still secretive feel free to pm me on here, i think my email is in my profile too.
