Im seriously contemplating going back to school for real estate. Maybe not an agent specifically as from what I understand its mostly minimum wage and the rest is solely commission (not interested to do that full time...)
However I noticed that many of the courses required for an AS in the field qualify you for various related jobs in the real estate industry. this is more what im interested in learning about which i believe is real estate appraisal, property management, commercial real estate, real estate instruction, mortgage lending, mortgage processing, mortgage underwriting, mortgage brokerage.
I did a little research and found a job for property management today that offered 50-60K (DOE) and a place to stay on site of where the apartments are for free (located in a pretty nice neighborhood). So thats what got me thinking what good is offered in real estate outside of actually being a sales agent (not that id rule out doing that part on the side).
im looking for something that could be a long term main piece of income thats why i rule out sales. however some of the other jobs don't seem as commission based.
anyone? anyone?
