    Anyone a Promoter?

    Hey guys,

I'm wondering if anyone in here is a promoter or knows a lot about the industry. I was thinking music promoters. I'm wondering how they purchase printing services, obviously a large part of their business, and whether or not they accept bids or have agreements with specific companies.

    Thanks for the help,
    Michael

My company used to do promotions.
We had a partnership with Anhauser Busch and they would handle all of our printing jobs, which was a really big perk. We were able to get pretty much anything in any size printed for free.

I was a music promoter many many years ago.

We printed cards relatively cheaply by using a local 4 color printer that did postcards. We were getting cards done for 1.75 cents at the time, but that may have been 2 color printing. I disliked all those photoshop novice rave cards.

A-B has the largest install base of Digital Wide Format printers in the country (well they were a few years ago, not sure now) so seems like that would be a killer partnership. Unfortunately, its hard to compete with free!

Yeah, I know what you mean. It seems like everywhere you go someone is handing those out...

I'd be more interested in small run (quantity between 1-100) posters and banners. Thats really were my prices are extremely competitive.

Iev promoted for a few clubs not a real big deal but i got to make an extra 20$ a night and got in free. Printing is getting very very cheap online with so many diffrent shops, you can get several thousand fliers for under a 100$

if your promoting for a major record label, the record label provides all the promotional material and pays you for distributing them. you dont need to pay for printing yourself.
