Post An Opportunity For Talent To Be Noticed.

    Hi all,

My name is Ashley, and I am from the UK. I am seeking some guideance and advice for an idea which could possibly change lives by giving others opportunities too success.

    Everybody wants to be noticed.

Recently, I have been planning and noting ideas on how, and what I could to do to give others this chance.

Similar to a very successful website, only, my idea will target and benefit musicians, actors, comedians, and dancers. My idea is to set up and promote a website which allows ourselves, agents and companies to identify and NOTICE talent.

The brief information given here is only the minium of my idea. Could you be interested in giving me advice, guideance on how I could make an idea like this successful?

An idea like this is too big for myself to make happen by myself. Unfortuantly I am limited to what I know but if I could gain interest from others to help guide me to find others who will help make this happen I would be greatful.

    Your feedback would be appreciated.

    Ashley

Hi Ashley, there are talent agencies in the market today offering the services that you are thinking of. The saturation varies by location e.g. I expect Hollywood to have plenty of such agencies. If you are interested, it's good to start by thinking who you are targeting, and how different will you be from these talent agencies. How involved do you plan to be? Is it just to get them noticed or to eventually spot a star among them and be a manager?

It sounds like your intentions are good. I'm sure there are many talents waiting to be uncovered. It helps to start with a vision for your company and asking yourself some tough questions.

    Best,
    Jeremy

    Hi Peter,

Firstly, Thank you for your response to my thread. I totally agree with what you are saying. Yes, there are agencies out there who scout for talent. However, I am not aiming to become a manager, nor am I aiming to create a company where I scout for talent. My main aim to is to bring the agents, the managers to the talent. So as you can see, my targeted audiance is the agents/managers themselves, but as well as the agents, etc...its a chance for people like us to notice a next internet sensation?

Its a big idea, but potentially very successful. However, it will take alot of thinking, and finding the right people to work with before anything can happen.

If your are willing to talk, contact me through pm.

    Many Thanks

What restrics this talent to be active in LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, etc?
Bringing managers, agents, etc to your site is lot of efforts as they are tooo busy to bother.

Similar, but not exactly. The idea is there, it can be based like a social network, but more of social site for talent to get noticed. Of course there will be no guarentee on being noticed, but the potentiall of being looked at is. Yes, bringing in agents/mangers will be a job, but with the right team, and connections...it could go along way, right?

It could work, you'd need to do a lot of background information on this, choosing how you are going to set-up the site (e.g. a forum or social network), then you'd need to choose who you want to aim at, for example, if you like football, aim for that side and then you could develop from that. If you choose a target market in which you are passionate about, it will be much easier.

Also you'd need a funding source for advertising and a lot of spare time to get talented people to view your website and also contact the agents.

Thank you for your feedback Kyle. At this moment of time, I am currently looking in to background information. The idea is there, I know who I am aiming at, and I know who are my targeted audience. Yes, funding is a big problem, however...im sure if I an get this idea moving it could be an opportunity for myself but others too.

I am currently working 30 hours a week. As i am only 18 and still a lack of understanding of creating a 'enterprise', there is still a long process for me to get this going. For now, I am currently noting down some ideas, i.e who are my targeted audiences? how will talent get noticed? etc. Aiming to get things moving early 2011, hopefully build up a team who can help me get this idea going.

I believe this could be potentially very successful. A place where talent has a bigger chance to get noticed.

Yes, do your best to do background research, also if you're really into the idea, right up a business plan, it will be helpful.

This idea can be successful in the right hands, a lot of time will be needed to put into the site and marketing!

Yes I will. I am really into this idea, it looks good, it sounds good, it could happen. The business plan is next, but finding out who could help make this happen is the question.
