Alternatives to paypal credit card processing

    Hi,

I have read tons of information on the forums and really have learned alot. Recently, I opened an online store that sells glass tobbacco pipes with yahoo merchants (Extremely happy with their system). Paypal reviewed it and suspended my account whole account. There is nothing on the website with any inference to anything illegal. It is simply against their companies policy to sell pipes as is some other processers I have come upon.

I am trying to find a reliable system for processing cards on my website.

What I have come up with is the idea to sell everything offline you could say, or in other words I am the one who recieves all billing information, than using a 3rd party, bill my customer. This way the processer would not be directly hooked into my site, and question what is there.

Does anyone have advice as to where I can find what I am looking for. I am really not feeling to good because on my first day before paypal cut me off, I sold 2 items. It felt great. Now I am sitting here with my site up and running, but no ability to sell.

I have done hours of research but it is all so overwhelming to someone who is new at this. Merchant account, third party account, tie it into the sit, do it all manually, I just don't know anymore.

Sorry for the length and feel free to offer any ideas

    Thanks alot

    Tucker

You could possibly try the following...

    Authorize.net
    2Checkout.com

or your ask your local bank for a merchant account.

dude i know the feeling palpay are the worst, when i started using them everything was fine then i had a small problem and they Froze my account without even telling me, i would keep away from them.
Do you know anyone who maybe already has a processing facility an actual credit card machine issued from a bank if not try and approach a small shop and ask if they would procces the payments for you for a small fee.
Unfortunaly its one of the hardest things to get right when u are small and dont have much liquidity.

I can give a second vote for 2checkout.com (also known as 2CO). They do require up-front fees (as any merchant account does) of $99, but their payment system is reliable and they won't scam you or randomly freeze your account.

Monthly service fee for 2Checkout is $49 it looks like.

You can accept PayPal with 2Checkout as well.

    Authorize.net is another good choice.
