    All you experts you....

Everyone here seems to be an expert and have a "starting your own business" blog, but what experiance do you actually have in starting your own business? Are your running one your self? and you actually successful?

Just seems to be alot of dodgy advice and e-penis arguments going around.

Most never actually go anywhere with their start-up ideas. Too much time is spent analyzing (paralysis of analysis) and it never goes anywhere. That, and everyone always wants to look for funding and angel investors when the real entrepeneurs have already started in their 1 bedroom apartment and are riding bicycles to work instead of a $400 car payment.

lilbilly- WOW! Very impressive... and very realistic. I started my business in my living room almost 2 years ago. I hope you stick around the forums... there are not enough people with your point of view on here...

I also just made a post about this today... It called "What I would like to hear just once"

Good post Crackha... If we get some people responding to this thread I'll post my story on here...

    Thanks for the props roger...

I've been on here for a few months, just not regurlarly. Most of the talk on here is internet business related, which is not part of my knowledge range so I don't do alot of posting. Plus I don't actually have internet at home, so I don't get alot of posting time while I'm working.

Good point. It amazes me how many people have business blogs and yet their only business experience seems to be the blog..?!? It is an issue of credibility. Why should I take your advice if you have no real background in the subject. I can read books for theory.

Well I actually DO have the experience with 25 years in Videography, 11 years in TV production and over 34 years working with entrepreneurs handling their Public REALations as I like to call it.

However NOW at 62 years young I'm ready to combine all that experience in media with 8 years in Internet Marketing to launch my WOW! Presentation LLC company. This will be the most lucrative for me and my partners who also over 60!

    So hang in there!

I've been thinking the same thing. Everyone that cannot start their own successful business simply go into the business of teaching business. Go figure.

This isn't always the case, however. There are also a lot of business "how to" blogs written by successful business owners.

That's a good point, many peoples only business experience is having a business blog. I like to think I'm not in that crowd.
I have been an entrepreneur my whole life, I'm an entrepreneurship student at one of the best entrepreneurship schools in the nation, and I'm an officer of the Entrepreneurial Student Association here on campus.

Lilbilly, I can see where you're coming from. My first thought in regards to finding funding was to try to find an angel investor. But from my experience most people are extremely worried about funding and not enough about what really drives business: competent leaders and SALES. If you're successful doors will magically open for you. The main focus of an entrepreneur should always be their customer base. You have plenty of time to learn from mistakes in other areas if you are making sales.
