Alexa rating?

How is it that a site such as www.zepti.com can increase traffic nearly 40,000%? The site looks like a basic clone of Google, with very few results on any particular search string... Yet if you look at it's rank chart for mid-March, it ranked at nearly 1,000.

My guess is that some major influencers in the blogosphere talked about this site when it released, thus driving up its rating. Notice how it's dropped off completely since then. People likely found out about it, tried it out, and never went back.

wow, 5 bucks that cheap but then again is it worth it?

If you get found out you can get your webiste banned like google do and if you have the google toolbar you can tell if a site has been banned as the page rank area goes grey.

Good grief ... I never knew about that. I used to use Alexa all the time to judge popularity of certain new services, but after finding out how simple it is to get a high ranking, I think a change is in store.

i've heard that alexa is not accurate - the 5 dollar trick's true. If you search around the Net abit you might even learn how to do it yourself! And some people are making a living by offering alexa ranking booster services
