Age Help

Hi guys, I am currently in a MLM company ( I know how some people feel, but please) and I talked with someone and they just said you have to be as old as your country says, which I though in the USA that was you just have to have a SSN. So, I signed up, but then after I signed up I read the TOS (I know bad) and it says you have to be the age of majority, which is 18. So, I emailed them if there was anyway I could get around this, but they have to email me back. My question is isn't there a way that one of my parents can cosign on it with me until I turn 18?? And then at 18 I just take my parent off??
Thanks so much for your help.

The answer to your question is NO. If the TOS says you have to be 18, that's the final word. You have to be 18. Don't try to get around the TOS. Abide by it, and wait until you turn 18.

I know exactly how frustrating it can be! Just look for other things, there is no point getting mixed up in ToS unless they specifically say that you can get a parent to sign up for you.

Some companies will allow you to have a parent as the primary and you as the secondary. Just call them instead of waiting for an email if you want a faster response. It's like many jobs out there that are on an independent contractor basis (i.e. home security systems, satellite TV marketing firms, utility services marketing firms, etc.). Those companies say you must be 18 or older or you must have a parent or legal guardian's autorization. In MLM, they may allow you to have your parents being the primary independent contractor and have you on there as well.

The reason is because minors cannot sign "binding" contracts that will hold up in court unless their guardian/s signs it either on their behalf or as the co-signor. Ask the company and/or an attorney...they'll explain it better.

Ok nocci01 thanks so much, I just looked over the policies etc and this is what it said: I will use company to refer to the company I use:
So this is where I think I can transfer to a parent:
Company reserves the right to approve or disapprove Affiliate's change of business names, formation of
partnerships, corporations, and trusts for tax, estate planning, and limited liability purposes. If Company
approves such a change by Affiliate, the organization's name and the names of the principals of the
organization must appear on the Affiliate application Agreement along with a social security number or
federal identification number.

So and here it says I can transfer it after I turn 18:
Separation of a Company Business. Company Affiliates sometimes operate their Company businesses as husband-wife
partnerships, regular partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, or trusts. At such time as a
marriage may end in divorce or a corporation, limited liability company, partnership or trust (the latter
four entities are collectively referred to herein as “entities”) may dissolve, arrangements must be made to
assure that any separation or division of the business is accomplished so as not to adversely affect the
interests and income of other businesses up or down the line of sponsorship. If the separating parties
fail to provide for the best interests of other Affiliates and the Company, Company will involuntarily terminate the Agreement.

And yes in the policies it says that you become an Independent Contractor.

I am going to contact the company Tomorrow when they have office hours but I just want to go in thinking I have a chance, I mean I have a chance right this isnt totally out of the water Right?

I mean worse comes to worse I could just transfer to one of my parents right?

Thanks

You're welcome kh...hopefully the subject company will allow your parent/s to sign the contact with you so you can be on your way now! Good luck to you and it's a great decision to start at a young age. I hope you do really well and if you ever have questions about home businesses, MLM, Network Marketing, etc...feel free to ask.
