    Advice on my new website??

    Hello,
I just started my new website, thewordwall.com and am looking for some advice on how to promote this site to get people to visit and buy "words." I am also looking for affiliates to sell "words" and earn 40% commission for each sell, but am having troubles finding people. So, really I am looking for advice on how to get my website traffic ranking up and promote the site, thanks!

    Hey Kyle,

first I want to congratulate you on a great venture and having completed the site. It really looks great!

There are several things you need to consider when it comes to selling keywords to prospective advertisers.

If you recall the million dollar page, the guy wrote a ton of press releases and sent them out to whomever had a set of ears! If you don't want to write it yourself, go to forums[dot]digitalpoint[dot]com and find a good press release copywriter who has some background in start ups. Then submit it to everyone you can, even your local newspapers.

Also, consider going to Sitepoint[dot]com and attracting some web advertisers in the marketplace section.

And lastly, simply reach out to local businesses that are savvy online. Tell everyone you know about your amazing success in building this business and how much it can help a business who has an online presence.

    Hope this helps!

Congrats again my friend, great job.

    Dan

I agree on the PR part...definately need to create a buzz with PR and Web 2.0 tactics (i.e. Digg, De.lic.ious, StumbleUpon, etc.)

I also strongly suggest volunteering/offering to speak at seminars/business conferences so you can be the expert on Social Media and than promote your "newest project" TheWordWall....

If you want to discuss further let me know

No One likes to be the first. Maybe give away a couple of words to companies that get high traffic and will link back to you just to get the ball rolling.

By trying to negotiate some deals. Targets comanies that optimize those words in search engines.
It's the same principle with restaurants nobody goes to an empty restaurant so when starting out the owners often give their friends and family free or cheap food.

    Hi KyleKangaroo,

You can join forums to allow more people to access your site. I like the concept. I will help you promote your site.
