It is seriously near impossible to be original these days... there are BILLIONS of people out there... You don't have to be original to be successful.. you should be proud of the fact that you had a good idea... this is reinforced by the fact that others are already doing it...

Since you're into advertising to a captive audience, maybe you could switch gears a little and see if there are restroom stalls in your area with no ads on the inside of their doors. It's an old trick but I think it works and I don't see any of the newer businesses using it around here. It would definitely be a low-cost start up. Just a thought.

Well, it sucks that people are already doing it, but it seems like something you need lots of financial backing for anyway. However, about the screen being so expensive...I had a idea that needed to use high contrasst screens cheaply. After I research lots of stuff, I find that $200 laptop that that guy is making to give every kid access to the internet. If he can put together a whole laptop for $200, I'm sure you can get a black and white high contrast scren (like Kindle uses) real cheap. I also had a similiar idea as your original one. I wanted to put a little touch screen on shopping carts for advertising, but mainly so people could email themselves shopping lists, then sign into a cart when they get there. I think that would ncourage people to do more heavy shopping and ceratinly e more loyal to the store they use. Of course theres advertising benefits too, but if you cant find something you could look it up on a map of the store on the litttle screen. Its sort of one of those things that we all see coming, and it will happen. Its just so hard to make money off of it since so many well capitalized companies are liekly to do it first or out compete you if you try it. I'm trying to stick with low tech original ideas for now.

I even have another one of those ideas, where I would just about garentee its the future, and I'd love to be the first to do it, but I'd probably have to be the CEO of Hewlet Packard to get it done. Kind of frustrating

I hope you have a lot of money because this idea requires some electronic engineering which is expensive.
