Quick question: Are there any agencies that actually connect publications to advertisers? If so, any recommendations?

Hey!

Im sorry, what I was wondering was whether there was a service out there that matched up advertisers with publications, like magazines, according to their niche. For instance, if a new magazine about cars was looking for advertisers, theyd ask a given agency to match them up with niche related advertisers, like tire stores, etc. I would assume the agency would recieve a percentage of the value of the advertising space.

Or if I were looking for advertisers that were record companies, Universities, etc, is there a service that would connect me to them?
Are there any services like that? Im not sure that I explained that well enough.

When someone wants to place an ad they either call the publication directly or they hire a advertising agency to place their ads. So I guess advertising agencies would be the one to contact if you are looking for advertisers in your publication. They would be the best source. As for firms that do this I'm not sure. I guess a publication could just as easy employ sales reps (which is the norm) or hire an outside firm to do their marketing for them.

I sort of see where you are going with your question... It's just a little different then the normal approach. I just did a Google search for 'advertising publication marketing' and came up with a few hits that look like they would fit your needs.

yeah, it is unconventional...but i think itd be pretty convenient if such existed...i'll check out that google search though...thanks!!
