    AdBrite

How trusted is this site? Can I trust it that it isn't a scam? I ask because it asks for my SSN. How old do you have to be to sign up? IF it is 18 what happens if they discover I am not 18?

Adbrite is totally 100% reliable most people tend to use them as a backup to google adsense,if you look this Forum uses them so it must be good,i cannot comment about the ssn issue as i live across the pond.

They have been around for a while, so I suspect they're fairly reputable. With regards to the SSN, it's probably for tax purposes. And I'm not sure what would happen if they discovered you were 18. Perhaps they would close your account? That's my best guess anyway.

I have an Adbrite account but never really got into it. I mainly use Google Adsense. Anyways they are both trustworthy advertising programs.

If they find out you're not 18 I suppose they could withhold your payments or cancel your account. I think it's more of a legal issue to state that you had indicated you were 18 to cover themselves. Don't think they would come after you or anything.

As you are effectively subcontracting your services to them, you need to be legally able to enter into a contract... Hence the need to be 18.
If they find out you are not, most likely by checking your SSN, they will cancel your account. Whatever money you have made in the meantime you get to keep as they can't exactly claw it back.
