How many of you guys actually do accounting for your business.

By accounting, i mean proper accounting. Not a little here a little there but actually record everything.

I started doing accounting a few months into my business when i started to take it more seriously. I now make sure everything is recorded. Tax time in Australia so i just went through a pile of receipts! yay!

Do you guys truly keep track of how your business is performing?

Yes, I keep very thorough accounting records. Double entry accounting, ledgers, journals, you name it I use it. I think I actually take it too far. I keep so many records that whenever we make a transaction I have like 8 places to write it down, lol.

lol, What program do you use?

I have quickbooks small business edition!

Quickbooks Pro. I used to just keep a file on my computer with a lot (and I mean A LOT) of spread sheets, but then I got quickbooks and I haven't looked back. That program is great.

wow, can you guys imagine if your power goes out and you have to make all the income statments and ledgers, balance sheet by hand lol.
