Hey everyone i have been thinking of many different ideas about a business, one of them being a surf shop (online,or actual store). I know its a tough market but if your going to do something make sure its something you love...

Anyways i was curious as to merchandise? How do you go about getting
certain brands like hurley volcom etc. Do you contact the actual company, or do these large companies only deal with distributors which in turn deal with certain stores?

Do any of these companies handle drop shipping themselves? (if i were to have an online store)

Hi Mike, My main market is surf shops. The best way to get merch is to goto industry expos. However, it may be difficult getting some of the bigger brands depending on selling rights in your area. Smaller companies like mine are a lot easier. If you are serious, I can get you in touch with some distributors who can get you some merch for your store. I've been in the industry for a years now.
