    A Word About Entrepreneurship.

I have noticed a lot of young entrepreneurs are trying to start a website that will generate revenues. This is a great idea, I have done it personally: but, its a pain to do it professionally keeping up with the constant content changes, etc. A lot of people, spend a lot of time, spending money on get rich schemes and MLM based business ending up with little or nothing.

    Think.

Everyone has a talents that they use everyday productively for themselves. There are a lot of people in this world. They need your talents for things, they themselves, cannot do.

The things that need to be seen the most, are the things you cannot see. Try to observe your everyday surroundings for new trends, use all your senses.

My first endeavor was computer services, I provided any service needed by anyone with there computer at a reasonable price in home. I provided fast service and engaged the customer. I noticed that people were sick of paying $100+ dollars and leaving there computer with strangers for weeks at a time. Or paying someone to hook up hardware or the internet, people need help with itunes, installing programs, spyware, there email, things you cannot even imagine. And they need you! I noticed a trend of people having computer issues, the majority is to lazy to take it to best buy, etc. Websites for small business, use a basic program, make it look good, $300, then charge for monthly maintenance and upkeep!

I then remembered back to when I was in middle school and always listened more to the college tutors. I always learned more and I enjoyed it. I put a packet of my transcripts and college resume together and brought them to three different middle schools. I now tutor for $50, clients roll it easy, it was a trend I noticed with my little sisters friends.

    Then I noticed...

Recently I had the idea to create a website, www.krecicki.com. The website is essentially services needed in my area. The key to starting a small business is finding an opening in the market and executing upon it. Think about this next time you around town and talking to your friends. Listen to people and listen to hot words that describe your types of services needed.

    The Process:

I started off my writing grants for my education, I then ran into a few business owners in town that had lost all there loans from the banks. I did my research and went out and bought a book on, you guessed it, Grant Writing.

On top of my other talents I found an opening in the market and executed my plan. I am now making $15h/10% Commission off of consulting people on grants: educational, federal, private sector funding, foundations.

    Now,

Your probably thinking a lot about how to do it though.

Research, Study, Educate, Practice, Learn, Execute, Learn.

The key to entrepreneurship is not having the best idea, its about finding a needed service and providing it with excellence. Be polite, understanding and listen. In todays society, especially in the United States, we thrive on services.

Be smart, use common sense, listen, learn, be confident, search for opportunity.

    Good Luck.

Well thought out. I think that is a general problem for entrepreneurs today - acting on their business ideas impulsively rather than seeking a truly needed niche then going gangbusters.

Nice of you to document your process and thoughts for others as well. I'm sure it will do some YEs good!

I agree with what you are saying... I think there are far too many people copying each other now, it seems everyone wants to be an internet marketer, or whatever is being advertised as the best way to make $10 trillion before you're 16... (I think it should be a rule that anyone promising you anything over the internet or even to your face, should be steered clear of because nothing is certain, its about how good you are at it)

The people who do well are genuinely thoughtful and bring a service or product to people that is useful and needed eg. not totally flooded in the market.

I am not saying it is bad to use the same sort of idea as other people, but the way to make it hopefully successful is to make it your own by adding your own differences that build it into an even better idea. This is exactly what Richard Branson does with Virgin, each of their areas of business are areas they thought they could come into and do better than the competition, by doing it their way.

    Good post!
