So, I haven't been on this site in a long time, but I recently came up with a pretty good idea for an Iphone app. It has to do with changing voice mail in a certain way. For any of the technology/programming people on here, is it even possible to customize voice mail through something like an app? Or do you have to go through the phone companies? Nobody I know has been able to answer this question for me.
Also, would it even be legal to customize voice mail?

It is possible to interface with the voice mail system because companies like Phone Tag (voice mail transciption services) exist. Not sure if the iPhone app system supports it though.
