The venture would work better with a different problem formulation
The problem: How to find a great fashion look?
The solution: Install a webcam in a clothing retailer where users can model clothes for a live, internet audience.
A website like ratemylook.com can be set up where fashion conscious, voyeuristic, young people can find others asking them for fashion feedback, find "hall of fame" or "best look of the week" fashion entries (possibly in the form of webcam screenshots), and where they can win the designation as a "fashion expert" having submitted a certain number of ratings.
The economics: Shops can pay a fee for having the webcams installed on their premises because this lets the shop differentiate themselves. Likewise, the shops may buy ads on the website, so that website users can order clothes they see on the site from the retailer.
The pitch: Call this thing "digg.com for fashion" or "fashion 2.0"
