    a few questions

first i apologize if this has been done a million times before, i have a few questions and any info given would be appreciated

a friend and myself, have considered the idea of starting our own business for sometime now, in an area we both are well experienced in (reptile keeping/breeding) what i am trying to find out if there are any, or what type of ways there are to seccure grants/loans for a business that does not have set costs. at first much if not all of our business would be done thru a website, and trade shows, while we are contacthing the different manuf now to find out about costs, outside of that there are no set i am going make X, or it is goin to cost X. because it all depends on a lot of thing (how many offspring, the quality, meaning the color morphs of the animal, etc)

are there gvt grants out there to persue, and if so..how so? and what other alternatives are there?

no, for all intensive purposes - you don't need to worry about gov grants.

breeding reptiles does not fit with government economic policy. if you are trying to commercialise a high tech business with export customers - that's a different story. grants are competitive, and no one's gonna choose funding your business over funding a new health care device or something.

I may be wrong - but it will cost you an immeasurable amount of energy to find out if that's the case.

save your self the headache, and just finance your venture the old fashioned way - go and sell some stuff.

If you are in the UK there are a few charity funded grants available £1k and less, available to new start-ups, haven't looked into other countries options.
