    A beginners business?

What is a good starter business for someone who has never owned a business before?

Is there something that wouldn't be too complicated to start that would lend a lot of experience for starting much larger businesses in the future?

I've a question? Do you want to start online business (home-based/web-based) or a business with a proper setup? IMO before starting a new business you should ponder the following:

    - Checkout your potential to do business with start-up assessment tool
    - Realistic Business Plan – this link may help you on how to write a business plan
    - Capital or Finance
    - Good skills/ Basic knowledge of concerned business
    - Unique Idea/Product/Services so customers can get lured towards you
    - DIY or need trained/skilled staff?
    - Mentally prepared for any mishap/loss but don’t give up

Online business marketplaces and social media sites are good places to market and grab the business.

online blog... eBay Store (not drop shipping)... Do not try any MLM programs... don't try any get rich quick schemes... Don't buy into some elses system (where they say you can sell their product and make money... if they could sell it on their own why would then need you?)...

    Educate... Experiment... Repeat Process

    Hi

What about becoming an infopreneur? That's where you create a website and provide useful information for your visitors. You can sell ebooks, affiliate products or use Adsense.

What's great about this is you can base it on any topic for which you have a passion. It's low cost, low risk and if you do it right, you can eventually put the business on auto pilot and earn near-passive income.

It can be good to take the support of anyone who has started a business and achieved success from your circle of friends or family.

A party rental business for sure. Super easy, low capital to start and high profit margins. I started one and it's great. If you want to learn more about it just send me a message.
Looking for fun? What about a bounce house rental?

I suggest invest in a small office/home office type of business, or invest in a mom-and-pop type of shop business. Food/Dining services is always a sure bet.

Just make sure you get the right support in order to make your choice of business a success.

    Goodluck

    what do you know?
    what are you passionate about?

go through the process of writing a business plan..without a plan you are planning to fail.

Personally I believe it is important for starting entrepeneurs to start small, work through the little problems and challenges. Versus starting large with financing and being forced to deal with the larger challenges and problems without having a foundation from starting small and working through those issues.

For the right people there is nothing better than self employment, but many people lack the discipline and drive to be successful. Good Luck to you.

Well starting a virtual assistant business could be good as it can be started without any upfront costs and you can do it from home initially.

And to be a virtual assistant one has to organize a time schedule according to the client's requirements.

    Joe Micheal,

I'm considering both an online business and a brick & mortar business...

What are some Online business marketplaces?
And what are some social media sites?

Thanks for all the tips! The "start-up assessment tool" link seems to be dead but the rest were very helpful!

Would this be the same idea as blogging?

Is it ok to write about random stuff everyday instead of sticking to one topic?

I don't have any friends or family who own their own business...

I've heard the Chamber of Commerce is a good place to get advice too? right?
    Know of any other places?
