50th Business Idea

Thats right, we just published idea #050 at www.ideas2earn.com

I know this is a dodgy, spam type post but I am very excited by the progress we are making. Many of the posts in here relate to businesses that we have covered already and I am happy to cover specific businesses on request, so hopefully that mitigates the spam effect? If not then I appologise!

Newton, thanks. I think.

The idea of the site is that people sit around saying they don't know what business to go into.
I say there are hundred s of businesses look around you, everything you see has been bought and sold
They say, yeah but that means someone else is already doing it
I say yeah, so do it different, or do it better
etc etc. You know the comversation?

Anyway How is sleeping bag liners an idea? On its own it isn't but look at all the possible ways of marketing them that I outlined. Now aren't those valid ideas?

ideas, I like what you do but you currently suck at it

if you want to help people with opportunity selection; pick a sector (i.e. durable retail) and apply a constant set of 5-10 criteria to rate opportunities

this approach is more useful than the subjective, qualitative, "yay, I'm so excited" essays that you're pumping out at the moment

don't write essays. write reports. don't be subjective. use numbers. be objective.

you're writing for business people. we don't read. we scan for keywords. write in a format we can understand.

be like http://startup-review.com/

an idea is only valid under 2 conditions;

1. it's compared to another idea
2. the comparison uses constant criteria to show that idea A is more valid than idea B based on constant factors such as margins, scalability, defensibility etc..

Can you give more examples of criteria to rate opportunities?

Your feedback in the second post was more useful than the first. "You suck" never helps anyone to improve. Thanks for taking the time to think about it, and re-posting.

The site is not designed for business people, it is designed for people who might want to go into business but are currently too scared to try. I appreciate that you do not fall into this category. The comparison idea is nice once you have decided on one or more businesses that you'd like to try, what I am trying to do is to motivate people to get off of their back sides and start something....anything. I think you know what I mean.

I have had a lot of positive feedback and am getting very regular subscription requests despite the fact that it is not automated so I know their is an audience for my essay style approach. I guess the cruncher is that I regularly launch businesses for my employer, 12 in the last 7 years and none of them has made less than US$300K in the first year of operations. I don't get to choose the business, just to make it happen. Everything is bought and sold and all businesses are viable if you take the right precautions and market imaginitively.

I used to have an angel finance business and solved the issue of finding businesses to invest in. If you are interested PM me and I'll give you the details.

I think it's better if you keep your articles short and direct to the point.

Most of the people today don't have time or patience to read articles.

Just try to summarize them a bit.

Cheers and more power!
