$50 Into a $1 A Day
Found an interesting set of blog posts about how someone is trying to take a $50 investment and turn it into a $1 a day website - in 3 months.
So far he's on day 13.
Anyone interested in trying it out? I shoot for bigger numbers because I invest more on new websites, but it sounds like a fun challenge because of the bootstrapping aspect of it.

What does everyone think? Is this challenge even worth doing? I can hear people say, “$1 a day! WTF! I can’t do anything with an extra $30 a month. my phone bill is more then that.” I would respond with, “When I first started, it took me three months to earn $30 each month and I was excited because I knew if I could make $30 month online. I could make $3,000 month. Also when I first started, my focus was to develop site to improve my skills as an Internet Publisher. I might not be making $3,000 a month, yet, but I’m half way there.” Even though $1 a day isn’t that much, I would take that $1 a day over $0 a day… anytime!

Definitely sounds like it would be fun. Maybe on a little higher scale, but yeah it would be a good challenge.

Really? Cause that's definitely not the same thing that the article in reference is discussing. But thanks anyway

I don't get what the 50 dollars is suppose to be allocated to. Is he not counting hosting costs? Cool idea tho

I'm not sure exactly what his costs are so far, but I know he's added the domain cost in there and bought $20 worth of content..

I have a difficult time with hosting costs. I have one account with media temple that should be able to serve up at least a dozen decent sized sites. So, do I just calculate my cost as $20/mo divided by the number of sites currently hosted on it. Or do I add up all the hits that the sites got for the month and figure out their actual usage. Seems like it'd be a lot of extra work.
I'm guessing this is why he hasn't mentioned hosting costs yet, because for many, adding a new site does not increase their fixed costs.
I also have enjoyed the articles and actually started EntrepreneurAccounting.com as a trial for what he's been saying, unfortunately not with the same amount of success.

Monthly cost divided by amount of sites. When I signed up for hosting I used the MAX97 dreamhost code and got a year for 22 bucks. Now its back to 11 dollars a month and I host about 15 sites on it, so my cost per site is pretty paltry.
