    35,000,000 idea...but is it practical?

A Private Aerial -Surveillance based business that contracts with large companies, and the US Govt

to undertake spy missions on people of interest from a high altitude, and assist local and federal

authorities in hostile situations (International Drug sting ops, etc..) I would need a few RQ-4 Global

Hawks at 34 million a pop, made by Northrop Grumman, some pilots, a contract with the local city

airport to house the planes, and some scissors to cut through the red tape. As far as I know, there is

no private company that does this, and givin the rise of drug violence in Mexico and the border states,

this would be a big help to the govt of the US and Mexico. The planes have a range of 8.2 thousand

miles and would be able to assist anywhere in the US easily.

First off, this is not very practical for an individual starting a new company. If anyone were to do this, I would expect it to be a large profitable corporation that's looking to expand their business. Next, you're better off investing in UAV's and attaching expensive high-res camera's to them. There's no point in hiring a pilot to fly around for long periods of time when you can throw a UAV up in the air and not have to worry about the pilot becoming tired or something.

I think that this is a great idea and you have clearly done your research on the military! I think that instead of trying to develop this idea yourself, you should write up a summary of the idea, with great detail. And then you should try and speak to someone who may be able to develop your idea!

I don't get it... I'm prior military and it seems like you want to start a business around outdated technology. I would wager to say the use of a UAV or satellite may have relative upfront costs but lower operational costs. I know there is a huge move to privatize the police and military in the US but I can't see (and maybe I'm naive here) the US Government allowing a contractor the opportunity to violate international or country wide airspaces. Wars have been started because of things like this.

It is an interesting concept and on a very large scale (we don't see much of that in here). If I was to judge this based solely on the info you provided above I would say you are on the wrong track... but that doesn't mean much... interesting topic none the less.

Uhh.. You should call the government and tell him predator drones would be a lot cheaper than flying 6 apaches around the city all day.

Each one of them has TWO people to pay!
