Hi all..
I am 22 years old and recently graduated college and have been working in "corporate america" for about a year now. I really am unhappy doing what I do despite earning good money for my age. The two "pros" to my job are probably that I make good money and have a fairly amicable work/life balance.

Aside from that, I don't like the corporate politics, unhappy/uptight office culture, and monotony of sitting in a cubicle all day. Long term, my pay won't drastically increase and I'll probably "level" off as far as my age and pay goes. For now, making 60-65K for my age is great. But in 20 years, I could be making 120-150K, which is still good, but I am more motivated than that - and seek to make more.

I am blessed and have a net worth of about $250K mostly invested in mutual funds. I am saving about 15% of my income currently. My parents are retired and have a net worth of around $4-6m. My family has a history entrepreneurship yet I am unsure how my parents would react to my ambitions, especially considered they are retired and using any of their funds could jeopardize their retirement (though my parents are in their 50s/60s so still young).

I have been looking around and found websites with businesses for sale. One area that interests me is commercial real estate.

Does anyone have experience in being a commercial real estate developer/owner? It seems that eventually owning corporate offices or smaller suite style offices could be a lucrative field. Of course, now is the time to buy with real estate prices low.

Does anyone come from "my path" and embarked on entrepreneurship?
I am lucky in that my family and I do have the capital resources to risk - yet with that "positive" risk comes the "negative" that I could wipe out our family wealth.

Thanks for your feedback!
