    2012 - Ideas?

I'm not one of the people that think the world is going to end in a few years.. But I do think there is way to make money off of this...

Ideas anyone? I was thinking about creating an emergency relief package that I can sell at my auto auctions. You can buy all kins of these online already. I'm going to do some price research to see how I could make the most money selling these packages. I'm not sure if it would be cheaper to buy them in bulk pre-made or to make my own.

Are any of you thinking about this event? I have a feeling there are going to be a few hot spots in the US where social unrest will take place. I've always had an emergency kit at work that includes food, water, medical supplies, and my handy AK. After spending 5 years in the Marines I think I have a decent understanding of what I would need to spend 5-30 days locked up in my warehouse. Again not because of any natural disaster in Dec of 2012. I'm more worried about how people will react.

What about all of you... Any ideas on how we can make money off of this? What are you doing to protect yourself and your family and/or business?

How about T-shirts that say: "I will die in 2012"

    Hey,

Emergency kit sounds like a good idea! You could also think of a way of selling (somehow?) information about how to survive through 2012 (make it specific to 2012-a much less saturated niche than general 'disaster survival').

    Keep us posted

I like this idea. I can sell it based on what I learned in the Marines in specific being part of Alpha Team for NBC Attacks. That should give me a little credibility.

I actually think this is a good idea. Although myself, I see it more as a gag gift idea. There's just as many people who think the whole thing is ridiculous as there are people who actually believe this crap lol.

The movie industry is banking on it, I don't see why you couldn't.

why wait until 2012? Maybe we will have civil unrest from economic problems before that...

Anyway, it is certainly true that certain kinds of businesses would provide a useful service to people in the event of economic breakdown and unrest and hence profit from it. I think one of them would be decently secured, low cost storage facilities. If people cannot secure their possessions in their homes, it would make sense to try store them somewhere else.

How will 2012 impact business, and what industries?

Meaning the people who do believe in this, how will they respond toward the places they like to shop? You could do magnetic stickers for your car, that says at least i don't have to make any more car payments on this piece of junk after 2012 or something lol.
