I recommend working for awhile, and saving up some money. While there is a thousand businesses you can start with $500, depending on the business you may need register, credit card machine, display racks, advertising, employees, licenses, rent, etc.

I recommend saving up more then you need for emergencies.

If only we could take every "only $500 to work with" and put our money together and do something real with it. The ultimate joint venture.

What is the flea market lacking? I have a fairly large garden and I sell my spare tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplant at the market after I have canned enough to last me the year. Its not great money but its something to do on the weekends if you have a green thumb.

I've lived in a university town for a while, the university sells surplus equipment all the time (were talking $20 laptops, $5 projectors, $3 chairs etc.). I frequently see that stuff at the flea market.

The question is what can you get, or make, that people want? With $500 you can probably hit up quite a few yard sales for good deals and resell the stuff at the flea market.

Part of being an entrepreneur is finding the ideas that work for you and running with them
