Hi Proho, this is a good discussion topic. If a player is really smart, he will know how to play his cards with Facebook. Fb has taken the world by storm, be it our personal life or our professional life. But apart from just making friend and chatting, there is a lot more to Facebook. If exploited properly, it can be used productively by businesses for promotion. I was reading an article on the Small business India Intuit site on the same lines. I am sharing the article with you:How Businesses Use Facebook to Boost Revenue | Intuit Small Business India.

Facebook recently certified Google’s DoubleClick as an approved third-party ad tracker, giving advertisers more flexibility in how they measure impressions, clicks and interactions with their Facebook campaigns.Facebook is also testing a new real-time bidding exchange that will allow third-party platforms to place retargeting ads on Facebook after users visit external websites marked with cookies. DoubleClick’s demand side platform, DoubleClick Bid Manager, is not included in that test.

Marketing on Facebook is like marketing elsewhere. You still need to know your marketing message and get people to your site so you can convert them into customers.

My advice is to become very connected with Facebook because of what the social media can do for you. Facebook's privacy laws have been getting a lot of heat lately, which can be good for marketing! Facebook knows the kind of things that their users look up and like to talk about and they post ads at the side of the page that have to do with what they look at. Take advantage of this and the power of Facebook will be at your fingertips!

Facebook Events can help you connect with your target audience and invite them for your events, even if they aren’t on your friend list or one of your fans. Events can be created individually or even from Profiles, Pages. What I like is that Facebook gives you a choice between making the event Public and Private.

The cover photo is very important on your Facebook Page, and it’s the first thing consumers notice. Therefore, it ought to abide by Facebook guidelines, which state that a cover photo can not have:
Price or purchase information (including discounts, such as “40% off”)
A call to action to “like,” share, comment, download, “get it now” or “tell your friends”
Contact information, such as web, email or mailing address
