Are mobile phones part of social media? if yes than the messages and calls used for marketing can be said to be a part of social media marketing or not?

I think not. But users who access their social media account using their mobile phones are a big part of social media users.

You can't consider as part of social media but I have seen many people updating their status and posts through smart-phones, iphone, android etc. I have seen mobile search visits data in my analytic data also. It will be part of social media sooner or later.
