The Starting Line - Travel/Adventure Business

    Aloha!

Hey I知 a 24 year old plumber and looking to get into the travel/adventure business. I知 a total rookie when it comes to business, or business planning.

I知 looking to target the budget, group traveller. Organizing Man trips or Estrogen fuelled get aways for the ladies. Casual and Fun!

I知 just seeking some advice, or recommendations from anyone. Just like helpful websites, books, and blogs.

I get the feeling this site is going to inspire me, so feel free to plant more seeds in my head!

    Thanks!

    Hi,
I would recommend starting small and begin writing a business plan and finding yourself some mentors. Another point would be look back at your own traveling experiences. what did you like and dislike? Those answers can be the differentiating points for your business. Best of luck and let me know if you need anything.

    Hi Kona

The town I live in could use a good plumber. Good luck in the Travel Biz. My company has a travel portal to get in the travel biz for a low start up cost. Please let me know if I can help

Kona your in for a treat my friend the whole process of creating something from nothing is a great feeling. I suggest you keep a close eye on the industry studying every aspect of them from their prices to their marketing strategies. Look at what they are doing that you have to do to function in the field and then take notes of the things you would do different that can make your business better. You should be thinking about these things around the clock. A business plan makes everything easier so you should consider it. myownbusiness.org has a business plan template that is awesome.

Great advice! I couldn't agree more with having a well planned out business plan. Pitchthenplan.com is a great resources as is SCORE which is the service core of retired executives. They will sit down with you and go through your plan from start to finish offering years and years of advice. Definitely worth a look
