Hi all,
I just started my business 3 yrs ago as a side business (Not putting too much effort into it) but now I am looking to grow it to the point where hopefully I can leave my regular 9-5 job (Systems Analyst) and just do the limos. I financed everything myself, I do not have any loans, etc and I own my vehicles outright. I know a LOT of information about the zoning ordinances and business licenses for Arlington and Fairfax counties in Virginia, and I also know a bit about the SBA in this area.
If you have some questions about getting started in my area I would be more than happy to answer them. I went back and forth with Arlington County and Fairfax County on several occasions, enough so that I have contacts in both offices I can call with any questions lol.
My main focus right now is on the marketing side of the house. I know how to operate my business and keep records, but I need more clients! In the stretch limo industry most of your customers use you once then that's it. That is why I am trying to get into the sedan service side of the house. Those customers will use their favorite car service over and over, but you have to find those customers, which is where I am concentrating most of my efforts currently.
Since I have a heavy IT background, I have optimized my website and registered on Yahoo PPC which gives me about 40% of my clients. The other 60% come from Word of Mouth and my work with two large funeral homes in the area.
Thank you all for reading this and I look forward to many good conversations!
