I just wanted to drop by and say hello, as I feel like I will be around for awhile. Aside from the spammers (which I understand, the site is called young entrepreneurs after all), this site is exactly the type of forum I wanted to be a part of for awhile. Even after just browsing the search function, I've found a lot of good information.
I decided to become self employed well over a year ago and I don't plan on ever returning to Corporate America.. About 7 months ago, I launched my first business which is the herbal industry. It took about 6 months to become profitable but the learning experience has been invaluable.
Little did I know that getting a solid merchant account for herbal products was like finding a needle in a haystack. I feel it helped me learn a lot about the credit card processing side of an online business that I otherwise would not have learned though. Which is fundamental, as relying on PayPal or Google Checkout is a poor choice, in my opinion, of course.
I'm ready to broaden my spectrum and start another business or two (or three...) and there seems to be not only a wealth of knowledge here but a lot of members with truly successful business backgrounds which I look forward to conversing with. Hopefully I can be of help to, as I continue to learn more about being an entrepreneur.
