New Guy from Texas!!
Hello everyone! I found this forum a couple days ago and look forward to learning and discussing ideas with fellow entrepreneurial minded individuals.
A little about myself..
I'm not an entrepreneur yet but am working on becomming one in 2008. I have been wanting to start some type of business since early in high school. In the beginning I really had my sights set on ecommerce. However back then I was not yet 18 so I could not file for any licenses or business papers. So I became discouraged.. However I am now 18 trying to come up with a business plan. I'm saving up money for my first start-up.
I have always read and been told to follow my passions...
My main passions are fast cars & racing. I would like to start a business dealing with cars and/or racing. Online forums really facinate me and for my first business I am thinking about starting a forum filling some type of niche in the performance automotive or racing community. Another idea is to start a ecommerce site selling aftermarket parts for a particular make and model. My main inspiration is MVPmotorsports.com & SupraForums.com. I would really like to meet the guy who started these.
I'm currently a freshman at a junior college here in Texas however I would like to transfer to one of the top business schools here in the US and recieve an MBA.
Well, that's my story in a nutshell. Thanks for reading and I look forward to meeting all of you here on YE!
Regards,
Nick

Commander... I wish you a lot of luck.
I am currently in an MBA program in South Florida. While my scores were not high enough to get into Harvard, Wharton, or Stanford... I had the option to go to some pretty good state schools. I chose to study in an environment where entrepreneurship thrives....between the faculty and students I am surrounded by folks that either own their business or are planning to open a business. I am learning from business leaders such as H. Wayne Huizenga who started three fortune 500 companies. Do not get discouraged if you do not make it to a top business school because there are great schools where you can receive an invaluable education.
Have you decided on a business major yet?

Thank you for sharing your wisdom. While I am trying my best to make to eventually attend one of the top b-school programs, however I understand there are other great schools where I can still get a great education. I'm not sure on a business major yet..
Regards,
Nick
