    Smile New Clothing Line

    Hello,

My name is Orlando, and I'm from New Jersey, the Jersey Shore to be exact. I'm currently looking for information on how to start my own clothing line. I have a desire to be the next Marc Ecko, being that he's from the same town, and graduated from the same High School as me. I know that it takes a lot of time and dedication, but I also feel if you've got your heart into it you can achieve anything. I'm looking to start off with designing T-shirts and Hoodies, and Sweat shirts just to begin. I have a graphic design background so that I have that part of the game covered already. I do need lots of advice on how I can go about doing what needs to get done to start up. For example the main thing that I would need is to get information on how to reach out to screen printers, or large manufacturers that would actually help me customize my clothing so that it doesn't look as something that someone would bring to a screen printer for a family reunion, if you know what I mean. But I want professional, clothing store quality material. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Orlando

You're in the right place, but try looking on google and compile a list of printers, and then look up reviews on those printers starting with the lowest priced one first. I am by no means in the clothing industry, but one of my clients ran a clothing line and I can tell you, that hang tags make it look PRO! Best of Luck!!!

If you need a web site I am your guy.

    Hi,

I have recently started my own clothing label and it takes time!

The only advice I can give is this:

    1. Make sure when you are designing your clothing that they all link together in some sought of way, for instance, if someone looked at all your clothing they could tell it was from the same label without looking at the tags.

    2. Screen printers are easy to find, just shop around and take the time to go in a have a chat with them. Send some designs, and keep the amount of colours down to a minimum as, when printing low quantities it can get costly!

    3. Have a message behind your brand, really think about what it is your brand will represent, if you just make nice looking designs, they may sell the odd few but you want people coming back to you for more because they want to be part of your brand and what you stand for! This in my opinion is the most important factor when in this line of business!

    4. Think about the name!!!

Anyway hope this helps, our label is called OffYaRocker and we are based in the UK. We have been trading for around 3 months now and it is tough but were moving in the right direction!

Take a look at our site for some inspiration, notice how we include the manufacturing details, information about us, we do everything possible to convey as much information over!

    Good Luck!!
