    New and curious

Hello all, My name is Kevin and I am new to the site. A little about myself I have always been interested in opening and operating my own business and have tried a few times to get something going. I started with my brothers when I was about 19 a web design and PC services company we lasted 6 months and we found out quickly we wouldnt make it. We had a great plan and great marketing but we lacked the skill and design depth to keep up. From then on (Im 23 now) I vowed never to go into another business unprepared. I then saved up to buy a house get married and have been working for the man ever since. I am looking now to get back in the game and do a side business that I can run almost remotely. The idea that I have researched the most is to do a hot dog cart business. I have done all my research and just checking to see if anyone has any advice or knowledge on the subject? I know the cost of the cart and inventroy. I have a reliable employee whom I trust and I am looking more for anwsers on licensing and where I can operate, I live in Chicago, business lic.? what kind? Any tips would help? Thanks

You mention wanting to operate your business almost remotely...is this possible with a hot dog cart? Also, have you researched the need for liability and workers comp insurance? Perhaps if there are any lawyers from Chicago on this forum they could advise you.

    Good luck!
