Wow! I’m so excited that I found this forum! There seems to be so much energy and creativity among the members. That’s awesome!
A little about kelsi111:
I previously owned a web development company, but decided that I didn’t like web development all that much and sold it. I’ve taken the past couple years to decide what sort of company that I want to start and get myself in the position to be able to focus on business development for a year without having to stop. If it doesn’t work during the next year, I’ll go back to a “normal” job. During the past two years and before the web company I have planned various other companies (some that I started, some that I scrapped) and started a non-profit to encourage girls to pursue degrees in Math and Science.
I’m going to start two companies:
* Freelance Business Writing (I decided that my favorite part about all my ventures has been writing about them. I’m good at it and I enjoy it. Perfect!)
* Promotional Modeling Company called the Chicago Bikini Team. (I used to model in college. Meeting small photography shops and other modeling agencies is actually what made me realize that people can and do start companies for real. It feels like completing the circle to start an agency).
I’ll probably continue to do software development freelancing on the side for former clients to help bring in money and just to keep my skill set up in that arena.
Beyond that…I’m 24, getting married in two and a half months. The companies launches will be within a few weeks of that. One life change just wasn’t enough for me

. I’ll be moving to Chicago at that time (thus the
Chicago Bikini Team

). I’m very interested in lots of things (thus the different types of companies) and super excited to be getting back into the entrepreneur swing of things.
My overall goal is to start an incubator corporation that helps small businesses find venture capitol and “get off the ground”. I think the only way to do that is to successfully start and sell several small companies. I hope to officially launch the incubator within the next 5 years.
Anyhoo, I look forward to getting to know everyone on the board!
