Hey fellow Entreps!
Its taken a while for me to "wake up!" Several years ago I started coming here (it was the only place for young entreps online) and seeing it sprout into what it is today is truly amazing!
I'm 27, from Hawaii. I'm a 2nd year student at the local college majoring in International Business + Finance. I volunteer as a student mentor for Big Bros Big Sisters, and am a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
I'm launching my own version of an online business publication this year. I was inspired 6 years ago to start my own venture and have failed many times along the way. I've tried MLM, private business ventures, and franchising; spent thousands of $ doing so. The franchising deal (popular restaurant) was super solid, I was $10k into it (about to drop $250K+), but I didn't see myself owning 6 locations, so I rescinded my contract.
The failures I came across only made me stronger. My world has always been about self-employment and dreaming. I grew up believing that the world worked that way. Watching my dad, my relatives, and now my sister build companies, is the only example I can go off of. I've worked for others and it's great to help someone build their dreams; but there's great pleasure building your own.
I see the world through a business colored lens. Just in my small community I frequently come across young people who are starting, growing, and innovating through enterprise. Some have started small, some won awards, and some live comfortably though they are not millionaires.
My company is a gift to you, fellow Entreps of the world. I will share the trials, tribulations, and most of all -- the triumphs of the young entreps that cross my path.
I don't know where the journey will take us, nor do I promise a Golden Ticket for you. I just hope you join me on this journey.
Share your story with the world. They deserve to hear it; you deserve to be heard.
On top of it all, you deserve to "Make Yourself ...!"
In Success,
KF
