    I have questions

Hey everyone, I recently joined and am always thinking about concept business ideas and other possibilities. I'm only eighteen and don't know much about the whole business world aside from my parents owning a business. Is there money to make in "online businesses" or "e-business" such as owning your own websites? How much if possible and is it rare to make good money? Let me know thanks!

    You have questions.....we got answers! : )

Believe me, there is money to make on the internet. Lots of it. One of the simplest ways to do so is to open a website and place ads on the pages. Of course, you have to have visitors to your site to make money off those ads.

As far as how much money can be made, there pretty much is no limit. There's tons of money going around!

Welcome to the forum, we're happy to have you here!

Making money on the internet is verrrrrry possible. You need a good concept and you need to get people to go to your site.

    hi..

    ok, it works like this:
the world is full of opportunistic and stupid people
the opportunistic ones make up words and labels like "online business", "web 2.0", "dropshipping", "blogging" and "e-business" etc etc so that they can make money selling courses, conferences, books, subscriptions and other crap to the stupid people who swallow the sales pitch, buy all this crap and then pretend to them selves that they're on the bleeding edge of some new kind of knowledge

in reality of course, there is no new knowledge, or "online business" or "e-business"...everything is just same old, plain "business"...it works by the same rules as it's always worked, and anything to the contrary is just hype

so, to answer your question: there is no gold rush, free lunch or any kind of windfall to have with this "online business" thing. startup success is simply an age old balancing act of having enough customers to prevent the venture from going under...it's got nothing to do with websites, seo, ppc or [insert random bit of jargon here]. it's always been this way and will always continue to be so.

to make it big, foremost, try to identify with your customer's needs, service these needs, collect the payment and then, some time down the road, possibly consider whether an investment in IT infrastructure is a good option for your situation
