Post Hey Young Entrepaneurs Out There

Me and a friend came up with the idea for Rezim a few years ago in school. The idea faded away but the name stuck so that's what i go by.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Help with your business

Hi. Tell me more about Rezim. To start your business, go to the website of the "Secretary of State" for the state you live in. Google "Secretary of State", then type in "corporation, and then the name of your state. That should show you results of the link to click on that will take you to the business formation webpage for your state. This will give you the forms and instructions to begin forming your own business.

I suggest forming an LLC, which can give you legal protections similar to a corporation, but you can just have one or two people running the business. In NC, forming an LLC is very inexpensive. I renew my LLC status every year for $200 annually. Next ,you must register your business name with the city/county where you are based. That should only cost a few dollars. You may have to possibly purchase a privilege license, which gives you the ability to operate your business from the city where you are based. To register your business name and get your privilege license (you may not have to get a privilege license, but just check to make sure) go to your local city hall.

Now, if you don't have a website. My suggestion is to try using a blog. There are some great blog providers out there that are very low cost, or even free. I use squarespace dot com, a blog that looks like a website because you can have multiple pages. The cheapest blog on squarespace is $8 per month. I am using their pro-package for $14. You can try wordpress dot com for your blog provider, but they frown upon selling stuff from your blog there...to my memory. Get your domain name, if you haven't already. I suggest Godaddy.com to get your name registered and hosted.

To get some really strong ideas and fun business education, register with perfectbusiness dot com. They have free videos and other educational tools, interviews with successful entrepreneurs, and you can get your questions answered by experts. If you want to go global, try Xing.com to meet entrepreneurs from all over the world. Xing.com's demographics are more than half from other countries...it is a German-based company. There are a good number of entrepreneurs from Dubai there, India, and China..three areas to keep your eye on when it comes to business development and economic powerhouses. If you do decided to do business on a global scale, look for legal advice on international business. It shouldn't be so difficult to conduct business globally, it happens all the time, but you may want to really form a decent work relationship with someone from another country sometime...and having an idea of basic legal concepts would be so helpful.

Now, marketing....do you twitter. If not, try to do that Twitter and other social networks are getting a little tighter with business selling a lot on their networks...they are afraid of spam, or anything that looks like it. The solution is you can still advertise your biz, but don't do a bare-bones advertisement (an ad that says it is an ad) a lot, do it just a few times a day at the most. What you can do though, is draw attention to your website through telling your audience on Twitter that they can find more info on a particular subject matter (related to your product) on your website. Then give them your web link. Also write some cool information about whatever your biz specialize in, as a way to inform or educate your audience. I do a lot of podcasts on global news and world music, so I may say "Provocative Techniques to Market Your Brand", then give them a website, which is mine. Then they can see the podcast, and also see what I have to offer.

I am writing too much at one time, but if you have any more questions, please ask.
