Hey guys- Has anyone ventured into online businesses ?

My name is Chris, I am new to this forum. I currently run an auto parts eBay store. I have been fairly successful at this. However i would like to take business to the next level through building an online website to retail products on. I also have many other business ideas, Large and small, however i feel it is crucial to learn website coding/creation i just do not know where to begin.

I am also into Penny stock trading. I have ventured into this risky world of capital gains. I still have alot to learn. I also hope to dedicate some time to learning Forex trading soon.

I love the idea of building business's from the ground up. I became a member of this site to connect with other like minded people. I believe we can all learn and prosper from eachother.

Heya Chris! I think if you want to turn the eBay business into a website it is crucial to get lots of advertising. For eBay, people will already be going there to search for things so it is convenient, but how will someone know to search for your auto parts site in particular? That's why advertising is a huge factor. Google's ad "option" could be a really good choice, however I don't know what the prices are like for their advertisements

    Hello Chris,

I don't think you really need to understand the coding in order to make websites these days. There are so many open source templates available and all you need to know is understand the process of putting it all together. Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc. it's all pretty much build for us already.

Leave the coding to the coders and focus on your entrepreneurial skills and you won't end up wasting time like some people do.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Chris

With out sounding to chessey WELCOME!! I would agree with Veden leave the coding to tecks but one thing I would say is there's no halm in getting your head around some of the basics, makes life a lot easier when you come round to the stage of updating your site it also means you don't have to keep paying a designer £50 here and there to make simple updates.

With a lot of these web site building sites and program's you can pay pal plug ins. There really quite simple ones you get your head round the basic's. Iv said this a lot on this forum but great book to get is "web design for dummies" easy but informative read.

On the side of online marketing I would have to disagree and agree with In Like Flint, your marketing is going to be key and tons of it but unless you have a large budget to test the waters with Google ads I would concentrate your efforts on your SEO and get you self to the top of the organic listing. By that time you will have so much business and traffic coming through your you'll be able to blow aload on google ads and make it worth while.

I have loads of really useful material on this sort of stuff through the varroious letchers and overly priced courses iv gone on lol just hit me up on Facebook at Rise Networking and il send you over a load of stuff, I hope it helps

    Hi Chris
Many others have spent time making great codes to web shops. So you don't have to. Fill in some great content / spare parts in the pre-made web shop templates and spend your time working with customers.

In this link you find a booklet that explain How to open e web shop: dynamicbusinessplan.com/webshop/
