Hey guys,

Thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Trevor and I'm from Vancouver, BC. I'm a 20 y/o and just bought my first apartment in a blossoming part of the city near the skytrain. I am very interested in real estate and would love any help from people living in the area reference Vancouver's growing economy and the best way to get into the housing market. I have a job as a draftsperson for a very secure firm (unionized) and want to branch out into other investment areas. I realize a lot of the people on this forum are from the States however many of the same principles apply up here in Canada too and would appreciate help even if it's half way across the world. I have read many many books on RE and investing and thought I'd get into the real world with some of the concepts. For those of you that have RE companies for flipping/renting your properties I would love to know how you got started and what I could do to improve my chances of success.

Welcome to the forum!
Glad you stopped in. I am quite familiar with the Vancouver market (lived in Yaletown for 4.5 years). I now live in the USA but still visit Vancouver regularly. I know that the market has been quite good in Vancouver and the surrounding areas and doesn't really show a sign of a slow down.
There are some great people from Vancouver on this forum and I am sure you will have the opportunity to introduce yourself soon.
