    Hi Traveller 2009

    Welcome to YE

Sorry but count me out - I am sure that you could take advantage of some of the worldwide projects that would take you to places where people are less fortunate than you so that you could help them - and even not you could travel the world for a lot less than $100,000 by simply putting together your backpack and passport and hitching rides

My wife's Grandfather took 2 years to walk across Europe after World War 2 and has some amazing stories about how people help people

Never going to work... you and 10000000000 other people have tried this. Why don't you write a business plan instead.. then shop that around to investors. People are not going to just give you money like this...

If you relate negative thinking to reality then maybe you are right.. sense the sarcasm.. positive thinking is not going to get people to give you money. Proper planning on the other hand might just work. Why would someone give you money when they could give it to the Salvation Army whereby they would get a tax write off and they would be able to see the benefit of your donation.

There is no benefit to giving you money. People don't just give money... they want something in return.. this can be a tangible benefit such as a tax incentive or it can be an intangible benefit such as the feeling of knowing your helping Goodwill, The Salvation Army, The Red Cross...

What is the benefit of giving you money. In my most recent surveys 80% of people fall into the two categories I mentioned (tangible and intangible benefits) the other 20% were for selfish reasons.. meaning they donated to get rid of their old couch so they didn't have to pay to have it taken away.. or they donated their old car because that was the easiest way to get rid of it.

You don't fall into any of those catagories... it's basic psychology at this point. You took the time to make your site so you must be serious about the venture you want to pursue. Focus that energy on a business plan and you'll have amazing success... don't drain yourself with a plan that has already been shown as something that does not work!

Thanks for the replay guys, i have found a lot of critique not only here, and in others Forums too. I am taking this serious. The main point here is that i am not asking for $money$ or big money....i am just asking for a gift for a big purpose, that gift is just a dollar, and what people will get in return? my gratitude and their name in my book's donor lists. I think that will be OK, for just $1 dollar. maybe the book will be a success and i'll be in condition to return everybody $1 back.

That's life...you give and you will receive something.
