Hello My Fellow Entrepreneurs!
Hello everyone,
I wanted to make my first post and introductory message to you all.
My hometown is roughly 35 miles NE of Phila and I'm 21 and currently a Senior finishing up at Penn State University. My major at the moment is Finance.
I would have finished school a bit earlier, but I decided to take some time off and really begin brainstorming what I would like to do with my life. I needed some reflection time and did not want that to affect my GPA/etc . . . Although my major is Finance, I have many other interests besides sitting in an office and crunching numbers.
Entrepreneurship has always excited me as I love the idea of actually creating and building something of your own. I feel this would provide more meaning than spending years trying to please the appropriate figures in a corporate bureaucracy while moving up the latter. Not to mention the possibility of striking it big from nurturing and taking action on a dream.
I do understand the importance of experience, however, and know that I must pay my dues in some respect even though my ultimately goal would have a few successful, income generating ventures / businesses of my own.
I have made a few juvenile attempts at college to try and make something happen and would like to take a stab at a few more with my time left. I feel that a University with 40,000 undergrads could be a great market to get my feet wet, generate a small income, and most importantly gain some confidence as I begin entering post college life.
I look forward to sharing my past experiences as well as brainstorming new ones to continue to gather some knowledge in the area of entrepreneurship while learning a new thing or two from you all as well.
Look forward to getting to know you all soon.
-Scott
