well lets get you started then, first off we need to figure out your goals why do you want to open one of those stores and what do you hope to accomplish with them? is it the same audience for both? And what size store are you trying to create? Secondly you should be trying to read as many trade publications as you can get your hands on that will give you an idea of where to start. Just google it. Welcome to the forum

Welcome. I think a clothing and music store together would be pretty cool. Also if your interested in starting a clothing line, its a good idea to check out trade shows in your area. Trade shows will have tons of vendors with their new or current lines and you will get a better feel for what it takes to start your own. I would start there. That way you can talk to established companies and ask alot of questions.

Buy a couple magazines at the store. Start with Entrepreneur magazine and Inc. Magazine. Better yet, you could get subscriptions to them for about $15 each, which will save you money over buying them in the store.
The number of business books are endless. If you are interested in a music store, a really good book you might want to start with is "Losing My Virginity" the autobiography of Richard Branson.
