Hello From Uprise Design! Here is our brief Bio..

Hello everybody! I was doing some research, came across this forum, and find it pretty awesome so I signed us up!

Me and two other graphic designers opened up Uprise Design in Lincoln Nebraska in January 2011 after Graduating in May 2010.

Me and the other two owners were tailgating a Nebraska Football game and (after one or two or 12 beers) started discussing opening our own design firm. The other two gave me the go ahead to start the process, and with in two weeks I had a business plan drawn up and was actively seeking investors to get the money to start our company. People laughed when I said I'd have us up and running by the 1st of January, only 2 1/2 months after conception, but we pushed on.

Things fell into place like unbelievably well. Our biggest break was when a friend of my older brothers offered his legal service to us, walked us through becoming a legal entity, and did it all Pro Bono. We really owe him a debt of gratitude.

We become an LLC in November. I hired an accountant, a real estate agent, found the money we needed, and on December 22nd, walked into the Building that was to become Uprise Design, laughing at the neigh-sayers that said it couldn't be done in such a short amount of time.

I see you guys have UP-RISE shirts for sell on the site. What is that your company does? Are you guys making up-rise a brand name clothing store, or are you printing designs that anyone wants? Also have you considered getting into the print on demand market?

Sorry, I should have been a little but more specific as to what we do. We do screen printing and graphic design. We Use water-based inks that dye into our garments so they are soft to the touch and don't crack and peel like plastisols do. Plastisols are sticky, and not near as durable. We also design company Logos, business cards, special event invitations ect...

As of right now, we are a screen printer that creates shirts, jackets, ext.. for local businesses, schools, churches, and so on. They contact us with an idea for a garment, and we turn it into a reality. Is that what you mean by the print on demand market? If not, please elaborate.

When we aren't doing jobs for others...Our overall goal is to have Uprise Design morph into Uprise Apparel, or just Uprise. We are designing and printing our own custom Uprise T-shirts that we are selling on our website. We usually get a new one up on the site weekly. We sell them out of our shop, and online, but don't have a retail space yet, so the next step is to approach local retailers to see if they are interested in selling our apparel.
