Hello from the Carolinas | Photographer looking for business advice.

    Hello from the Carolinas.

I am a photographer and not a business man. My line of photography is in virtual tours, landscapes and getting into portraits.

What I need help with is the marketing and business side of things. Everything is in place for s-corp and I have an accountant as well. I do have a site for my virtual tour photography but have yet to put one together for my s-corp which will be the parent co.

Off to see what I can find in the threads on marketing and business operation. Any help and guidance greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Hi welcome to YE forum. If you have a site to show case your photos, you can put it inside your signature.

    Thanks Dennis

I added a link to my virtual tour photography site. I am currently working on my parent co. site which will include my portraits and landscapes.

Howdy, welcome to the YE boards. Have you thought about checking out the Arabian horse shows? Not just Arabians, horses, it could be any animal. One way to market your services.

    Hi Burntpixel,

If you want to improve your Marketing & Branding it is best you stay more of a photographer and less of a 'business man' Indeed it's so simple that it's complex!

Don't get overwhelmed with the business of business. If you need more customers the best thing to do is get smaller so you can get bigger...meaning target your tours to a specific industry/vertical. Virtual tours already seem niche but what you want to do is get known in an industry. Pick anyone whether it is transportation, hospitals, real estate what have you or market your portfolio as such. The more branded and exposure you get the easier it will be for other prospective clients to find you instead of you looking for them. Other simple things you can do:

    1. Start a social networking page (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).

    2. Send out a news release - do one to announce the re-grand opening of your company. And do one for any recent or upcoming clients you have. You can go to my site teenentrepreneurblog.com and do a search in the upper right hand corner for press release or news release and you will get a post that tells you how to put one together and where you can send it for free.

    3. Utilize a site such as www.toiletpaperentrepreneur.com which gives you tips for marketing on a budget.

    4. You can go on www.BlogTalkRadio.com and search for talk show hosts in the arts etc and see if you can pick up a few internet radio interviews.

    5. Contact your local/community newspaper. They are always begging for something fresh and new. So let them know you are out there and would love to get some exposure.

These are all free resources. Hope this gets you started in the right direction.

    cheers.
