Hello,
I currently work in sales; telesales to be exact. I promise I'm not an annoying telemarketer bothering you during dinner time. My job concentrates on providing a quality product and service to other businesses in my area.
Now that you know I have some experience in sales and marketing, I would love some input.
I'm looking to start up my own small business...for now I want to stay focused on the simple stuff, the basics of my business concept and hopefully eventually grow from there. I've been doing weeks of brainstorming, however, I need to be pointed in the right direction.
My concept will be makeover parties. My target market will be young girls ages 6-12yrs old. The services I will provide are simple now, but I hope to broaden as time goes on. Firstly, it will be an in home service, in which myself and an assistant will come to the customers home, with our own set up and supplies. We will perform hair styles (3 to choose from) along with makeup application (eyeshadow and lip gloss and nail polish). We will also entertain with activities and end it with a photo shoot. I plan to provide edited, finished pictures on a disc after the party for each girl.
I've got a name picked out and a business partner. Now, where do I go from here?
Legalities? Do i need to register my business with the state? For all of this, what is the ball park start up costs going to look like, for licencing and what not?
