Dear YE community,
Ever since I was child I thought about running a business of my own. At the age of 16 I started a web design and hosting business. Things did not go so well at first. However, I learned about the challenges of starting an online business and the commitment required. Not only was I challenged by the 24/7 schedule of the hosting web sites, but I also was challenged by the financial obligations that really were difficult without investors. Sometimes I could hardly sleep because I wanted to monitor the server my customers were on. My part-time job (McDonald's) kept me afloat during those times and I felt it was my duty to keep my customers happy and provide them with the best service I could. Those years went by like a whirlwind and they were very exciting times when I look back on my life.
For over 4 years I ran that hosting company with just a single partner that was the web designer. Once I made plans for college I began finding buyers. With a loyal client base it was not that difficult to find a reputable buyer.
Now I am interested in venturing forth into business after this next year is over. With a broad base of knowledge from college and the experiences of my past I hope to open up a business in the future. My goals are extremely high and right now I am hoping to learn from other entrepreneurs about what it takes to becomes even more successful in the future.
Sincerely,
John N.
